This market will resolve to "Yes" if, by January 31, 2022, 11:59:59 PM CT, Axie Infinity's Axie Infinity Shard ($AXS) token trades for less than $75.00 USD. For the avoidance of doubt, the price in USD must be less than $75.00 USD at the time of closing, not simply temporarily dipping below that price before then and then recovering. For adjudicating the price in USD, we will accept agreement of two out of three of the following sites: Coin Market Cap, Coinbase, Coingecko, specifically these three URL's: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/smooth-love-potion/ https://www.coinbase.com/price/smooth-love-potion https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/smooth-love-potion Which is to say, if any two of these sites agree that the price is below $0.01 USD at the time of closing, the market resolves to "Yes." #Blockchain #AxieInfinity #Economics #Gaming #Crypto

AXS is at $59 and dropping as crypto markets crash and all fall together, wiping out over a trillion in values https://twitter.com/StevenTDennis/status/1484619425328381955 https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/axie-infinity/
AXS is at $65 and change: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/axie-infinity/ Sky Mavis did just drop a "burn" mechanic that lets you send your Axies away to play on a farm, decreasing the excess supply and supposedly shoring up values, but feels like a short term fix for me. We'll see if it's enough to prop up token values through the end of the month, tho! https://cryptonewsland.com/50k-axies-burned-after-axie-infinity-launches-lunacian-express/
The post-update surge is over and we've dutifully reverted to the mean: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/axie-infinity/ Price sits at $79.65 and question is whether it will dip back below the $75 mark (as it has done several times this month already) to sit there at the end of the month.
Or does "time of closing" mean for the term of the market? I'm thinking stocks, but I guess the crypto market doesn't have a time of closing.
Yes it's been below $75 multiple times. As listed in the description the closing condition is being worth less than $75 ON the closing time, and it's specifically not enough to just dip below it temporarily. Editing the question title to "on" rather than "by" would be less confusing I agree.
Specifically, it closed at ~$70 on 01/10, no?
By my reading, this should already have resolved as yes. If the question is if it will be worth less than $75 ON Feb first, we need an edit to clarify that.
Update on this: AXS token has spent 6 out of the 16 days of January so far at below $75 USD. AXS token value more or less represents long term faith in Axie Infinity in general (although it is also consumed as a breeding fee, so demand for new axies drives its price too). It tends to go up whenever they release a new update on their blog. A new blog post was released yesterday: https://axie.substack.com/p/axie-january-development-update In it they confirm that neither of the new planned updates (Land Gameplay or Axie: Origin aka "Battles v2") will be releasing imminently. The current timeline is "in the coming months" -- so 2 more months at minimum, more likely nothing before Q2 2022. As my colleagues and I laid out in our report [1], the current version of Axie Infinity is dependent on sustained user growth to prop up its asset values. From the looks of it, the Axie Infinity ecosystem will consist of nothing but their legacy game until Q2 2022 at the earliest. [1] https://naavik.co/business-breakdowns/axie-infinity
